Meet Your Teachers
- Claudia Ortiz – Lead Early Preschool Teacher –
- My name is Claudia Ortiz. I have been working at YPW since July 2012. I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Since young age I knew I wanted to work with young children. Thus when I “grow up”, I enrolled in the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez in which I earned a degree in Child Psychology. I have worked with young children for the last 18 years. During those years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of ages from young babies to 13 years old children. I worked for the Austin Independent school district as preschool teacher for few years.Throughout the years I have learned that proper child development needs to go beyond basic learning. I feel that a positive environment is necessary in order for children to fully understand and feel love, encouragement and respect.
I have been married for 16 years to my husband Ismael, and have 2 wonderful children (1 boy and 1girl) 9 & 14. My hobbies are walking, reading, cooking, arts & crafts, movies and going out with my family. My favorite children’s book is the Bernstein Bears, my favorite color is blue and Mexican food is my favorite type of food. I love seeing the children’s individual development grow and blossom into unique personalities. Children are always eager to learn new challenges and I like to grow with them. - Georgina Ramos – Gina – Early Preschool Assistant Teacher –
- Hola! My name is Georgina Ramos. I have worked at YPW since July 2013. I was born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico. I’m married and I have a wonderful boy – Camilo -. Currently, he is also a student here at YPW in the Preschool class. I have over 5 years of experience working with young children. I have a BA in education from “Normal Serafin Pena” in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon. In my free time I enjoy listening to classic music. My favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. I am in awe of the wonder and excitement that the children possess and always wanted to work in a field that allows me to interact with them on a regular basis. My favorite activity with the children is singing songs. “The children are fantastic! I am amazed everyday that such little people can have such big personalities!”
