Giving Back – Our Annual Fund Raising

Our Giving Back series is just one of the ways that YPW gives back to our community. Each year we spotlight a local nonprofit that’s in need of our help.  This is a way to connect with our community, through contributions, with charities that make an impact to Austinites.

We began our Giving Back series back in 2013 with our fund raising at YPW’s annual fall festival.

Through our partnership with our families, teachers and administrators we have been able to fund raise for the following nonprofits organizations.  We are humbled to be able to contribute to such wonderful causes!

Giving Back 2024 – This Year’s Fall Festival Spotlight Nonprofit: CASA of Travis County

At CASA of Travis County, they are looking to make a difference for children in the child welfare system who have experienced abuse or neglect.

ABOUT CASA
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained volunteer advocate to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest. Volunteers advocate for children’s safety, well-being, and for opportunities to thrive. They come from every walk of life and share a commitment to improving children’s lives, a willingness to learn, and an open mind towards life experiences different from their own. After completing extensive screening and training, volunteers are sworn into their roles by a judge and assigned to a child or family of children. For more info visit: www.casatravis.org

Giving Back 2013 – 2022  For Ten Years The Fall Festival Spotlight Nonprofit: UNICEF

UNICEF, or the United Nations Children’s Fund, is an organization that works to protect the rights of children and adolescents around the world. UNICEF’s mission is to help children survive, thrive, and reach their full potential.

ABOUT UNICEF
UNICEF works in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents – and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. Across more than 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive and fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

The world’s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.

Before, during and after humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF is on the ground, bringing lifesaving help and hope to children and families. Non-political and impartial, we are never neutral when it comes to defending children’s rights and safeguarding their lives and futures.

And we never give up.  For more information visit: https://www.unicef.org/
